Falasarna Beach
Obscured by the famous Balos and Elafonissi beaches, the beautiful Falasarna Beach is virtually unknown by mass tourism and offers one of the most beautiful coastlines and less frequented the island of Crete .
The long fine sand beach, washed by a sea of stunning colors, ranging from turquoise to blue, with clean, clear water, even when the sea form of massive waves. A steep road leads from Platamos Village, in the extreme west of the island, thanks to a series of hairpin bends. When you get up in the sea, you will find two paths that lead to the beach, I recommend the second one, which reaches the most beautiful stretch of beach and less crowded.
At the end of both branches, are small taverns that also have sun beds and umbrellas (6 euro for the whole day, sun umbrella and two chairs), while the central part of the long beach is left intact and wild. At the north end, there is a rocky area that form picturesque inlets. A place not to be missed if you love quiet beaches.
